Order sent to the kadı of Sakız upon the request of the emin of İstanbul, Hüseyin, regarding a certain group of non-Muslims who have been living on the island and paying their non-Muslim tax (cizye ) for 15-20 years. However, recently the Venetian consul in Sakız claimed that they were subjects of Venice from İstendil. The kadı is ordered to investigate the issue and take a look at the berat that these non-Muslims were granted. The Porte on its part decided that these non-Muslims had to pay their taxes.
