English Summary - Plain
Arz submitted by the Venetian bailo in İstanbul to the Porte regarding customs fees demanded from the Venetian merchants. The first part of the documents is about the loyalty of the Venetian lords to the Ottoman Porte and that the Venetians are willing to continue their loyalty and frienship with the Porte. The bailo indicates in the second (and real) part that other protected nations are paying 3 percent customs fees for their goods. Although the Venetian merchants bring more goods to the Ottoman lands they are demanded more fees compared to other nations. The bailo requests that the Venetian merchant also be demanded only 3 percent.
